A SLIPPY SLOPPY SPECTACLE FOR THE AGES!
Thank you muckers and volunteers for making the inaugural MuckFest® MS Charlotte such a mud-soaked success!
We talk about mud the way some people talk about wine. And we can say definitively after Saturday, that the Carolina mud is some of the finest vintage we've ever sampled. Not to get all technical, but it was uniquely ooey and unbelievably gooey...in other words, perfect. And when you pair the finest mud with the finest muckers, the result is a truly memorable, slippy sloppy spectacle for the ages.
From the exceptionally muddy Muckin' Corral at the Start Line to the equally muddy Belly Crawl at the Finish Line, Charlotte muckers attacked the course with gusto, accompanied by hoots, hollers and screams of delight. Spectators had a great view of many of the obstacles, so they added their own cheers to the happy hubbub.
We want to thank all the volunteers for their hard work and bright smiles on Saturday. This event wouldn't happen without you. We'd also like to give a special shout-out to the awesome volunteer captains who stepped up to be large and in charge.
Thanks to all the muck-tastic Charlotte teams, large and small, and a sincere thanks to our Top Fundraising individuals and teams (see below) and to every runner and volunteer who fundraised on behalf of the National MS Society. Your fundraising will change lives for the better.
Thanks also to our National Sponsor AbbVie, for providing Garrett's popcorn at their Let's Pull Together to Fight MS tent, where many of you hung shoelaces to honor loved ones with MS. You all get high marks for making it a party in the MuckFestival, refreshed by Traveler Beer, where we saw many hoisted cups and heard the smacking of lips from those indulging in a little post-run BBQ.
Props and thanks to Concord Speedway for providing that amazing mud and for being such a great event site partner.
Thank you for coming out and making the inaugural MuckFest MS Charlotte so memorable. We would like to thank all the runners, volunteers, spectators and staff who participated and supported each other this weekend. It is that spirit of support that inspires us to work hard every day of the year to support people living with multiple sclerosis.
